Our Honeycomb Absolute (aka Beeswax Absolute) is extracted from the happy honeycombs of buzzing French bees as ambassadors of health and guardians of waxen wealth! This miraculous wax is the bee's knees for subtle-scented blends and supple skin mends. This absolute is pure wax, captured straight from the hexagonal honeycomb, the Queen Bee's fortress of fortitude. With notes of wildflower honey and hay, the warm, sweet scent will make your day. Honeycomb Absolute is perfect for perfumery. It has a consistency similar to molasses and liquefies in warm water.

The absolute comes in waxen form, yet can be easily used in scent blends by soaking the bottle in warm water to liquefy the wax. Each batch is an aromatic marvel because each honeycomb is different, offering endless possibilities for scent explorations and sweet-smelling creations. The scent of the absolute will also evolve over time, building perfumes to elevated heights of scent-expression.

"In the aroma lamp, the bath, and massage oils, honeycomb oil calms, relax, and balances. It may be used in a bath for comfort. Children enjoy honeycomb oil mixed with mandarin and vanilla..."
~ Susanne Fischer-Rizzi, Complete Aromatherapy Handbook

"Beeswax is the miracle of the beehive. To form the beeswax into a honeycomb, the bees will hang in strings. As wax is exuded from the glands of the wax-producing bees, it is passed between the legs and mouths of the bees that form the chain, being chewed and molded into shape along the way. The bees will then use this wax to build the familiar hexagon-shaped honey cells. It is during this process that the wax starts to develop its color and opacity. Depending on what kind of nectar and pollen come into the hive and is consumed by the bees, microscopic bits of the pollen and nectar remain and get added to the wax. It takes about 1,100 scales to make one gram of wax. "
~ Petra Ahnert, Beeswax Alchemy

"There was a wonderful atmosphere of gentle age, a smell of flowers and beeswax, sweet yet faintly sour and musty; a smell that makes you feel very tender towards the past."
~ Dodie Smith, Capture the Castle
