Neroli was named for Anne Marie Orsini. Orsini was the princess of Nerola, Italy until during the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The princess was a huge fan of orange-blossom essential oil, and would add it to her bath to escape the pressures of political and royal life in Italy. She loved the fragrance so much that she began spritzing it on her gloves before going out in the evenings. Soon everyone in Italy was wearing Gloves of Neroli, and soon after that, everyone in Europe was admiring and acquiring on how to get their gloved mitts on some of Orsini's enchanting Neroli Oil.

"The flowering Orange trees that grace sunny Seville weep sweet Neroli."
~ Anonymous

"Neroli is one of the most precious essential oils, its vibration being one of the highest among them. It may be that it resonates with energy from another light-time in the universe, perhaps taking its light from another sun in the vast cosmos. Where ever its subtle and luminescent quality comes from, it is omnipresent."
~ Valerie Ann Worwood, Aromatherapy for the Soul

"Neroli: One drop dabbed anywhere, such as the sternum area, will ease..."
~ Kurt Schnaubelt, The Intelligence of Essential Oils

"Neroli has a soothing, supportive action on the heart."
~ Julia Lawless, Aromatherapy and the Mind

"The name of this oil is said to originate from a beloved princess of Nerola, Italy, who lavished it on everything. Brides adorned themselves with the orange blossoms to signify their purity and beauty. Neroli has been regarded by the Egyptian people for its great attributes for harmonizing the mind, body and spirit. It brings everything to the focus of one moment."
~ Alan Higley, Reference Guide for Essential Oils

How do we love thee, orange tree? Let us count the ways.

Our hearts and noses are filled with gratitude for the many aromatic gifts of the generous orange tree. The hypnotic floral fantasy of Neroli is produced by steam distilling the orange tree’s fragrant white flowers, and opulent Orange Blossom Absolute uses a solvent extraction method on those same fragrant flowers to capture a richer, thicker, and more viscous essence that has incredible tenacity in perfumery. Twiggy-tangy Petitgrain oil is a steam distillation of the orange tree’s leaves and stems, and it is perfectly poised to refresh the senses, revive the skin, and reinvigorate the spirit. Cold-pressed orange peels release bright and sunny Orange Essential Oil used as fresh, sparkling notes in perfumes and is nearly always used as a top note. Neroli Fleurs sur Petitgrain is a captivating co-distillation of Neroli blossoms with the twigs and leaves of Petitgrain to create an enchanting, super sensual scent.
